Job description

The Floor Maintenance Assistant position performs a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of State buildings. Â This position will clean and maintain various types of floor surfaces: Â wood, tile, terrazzo, and carpeted surfaces to maintain a high level of sanitation and an attractive environment. Â Employee operates a stripper, buffer, and washer used for floor maintenance. Â Duties may include physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment and delivering large quantities of housekeeping supplies. Â Work is performed under close supervision, guided by a daily schedule for general assignments. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. The work schedule is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with some weekends as assigned.
