Job summary

Artesia is seeking a dedicated maintenance associate to keep our long-term care community clean, safe, and welcoming. You will perform daily floor care, assist with minor repairs, and ensure compliance with state and local standards, while supporting residents and staff with a friendly, reliable presence.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to handle chemicals safely. On-the-job training is provided in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Knowledge and prior use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for weekly buffing and stripping/waxing of rooms to maintain a clean environment, including moving furniture.
• Minor repairs on baseboards or tiles in rooms in disrepair.
• Develop preventative maintenance program.
• Auto scrub hallways and dining rooms and detail clean corners and edges.
• Minor maintenance: replacing light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, painting, and other tasks.
• Prepare vacant units to meet company standards and checklists.
• Ensure assigned work areas are safe and attractive.
• Sweep and mop floors; vacuum as needed.
• Follow proper chemical handling and disinfection procedures.
• Notify supervisor about supplies, budget needs, and educational requirements.
• Demonstrate care in interactions with coworkers, residents, families, and visitors.
• Maintain appearance of community areas and supplies/equipment.
• Perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation and safety.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
