Job summary

Artesia seeks a dedicated facilities cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment in our long-term care community. You will perform floor care, prepare units for new residents, and follow our established safety standards to protect residents and staff.

Responsibilities include buffing and stripping floors, minor repairs, cleaning, and daily upkeep of resident areas. On-the-job training is provided, with up to 3 months to reach full productivity; compassionate teamwork is

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge and prior use of burnisher, auto scrubber, side-by-side scrubber/water extractor.
• Know-how with wax products, strippers, cleaners and chemicals.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Buff and strip/wax rooms weekly to keep a clean environment.
• Perform minor repairs on cove base or tiles.
• Develop preventative maintenance program.
• Auto scrub hallways and dining rooms; detail corners.
• Replace light bulbs and perform simple repairs.
• Prepare vacant units to meet standards.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
• Sweep and mop floors; vacuum as needed.
• Follow proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
• Notify supervisor about supplies, budget and training needs.
• Demonstrate care when interacting with residents and staff.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, and inspect rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
