Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of proven retail sales, call center, customer service, or telesales experience.
• Willingness to travel between branches as needed.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse customers and handle difficult conversations.
• Well-organized with good time management and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers and explain features and benefits of Consumer and Business Banking solutions; make recommendations based on the customer’s identified needs.
• Engage customers in various ways to bank with us and promote digital capabilities in interactions.
• Explain high-level criteria used to decision loan applications.
• Complete servicing-related responsibilities and identify opportunities to solve other banking needs.
• Follow the Bank’s sales process and provide customer-focused guidance.
• Proactively reach out to customers to retain and expand relationships.
• Adhere to customer service standards and deliver a differentiated experience.
• Lobby management, greeting customers and resolving banking needs.
• Introduce appropriate banking partner when service needs present opportunities.
• Assist and stay current with AML/BSA/KYC processes and identify suspected fraud.
• Resolve and log customer complaints accurately.
• Review, approve, and resolve consumer and business overdrafts.
• Complete customer transactions and related branch operations.
• Adhere to risk controls and regulatory standards.
• Promote M&T Bank brand and internal controls.
• Meet Federal SAFE Act registration requirements.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
