Job description

From humble roots in 1990, Magical Beginnings has always aimed to provide a nurturing, constructive, and education-first environment for young children. Today, the Magical Beginnings’ schools are an award-winning collection of Early Childhood Education Centers serving communities and families in Massachusetts.

We are hiring a Floating Teacher to support our Hamilton school. This role provides support to classrooms throughout the school, helping our program run smoothly while delivering top-notch childcare and collaborating with like-minded teachers. The ideal candidate is creative, positive, engaging, flexible, and eager to support.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:
  • EEC Teacher Certification (Preschool), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (Required)
  • Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
  • An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals
Some requirements of the role include:
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work between 7:30am and 5:30pm
  • Ability to spend extended periods on the floor with children
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
Responsibilities include:
  • Providing substitute coverage when teachers are out sick, during planning, bathroom breaks, lunch, or other times during the day
  • Assisting with classroom routines, cleaning, and preparation for the next day
  • Supporting classroom activities, supervising outdoor time, assisting with bathroom needs, snack and lunch, naptime, and engaging children in activities
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the classroom and school areas
  • Encouraging participation through age-appropriate activities
  • Maintaining professional development hours and PQ registry
  • Attending staff meetings and creating a safe, fun learning environment
  • Building positive relationships with students and parents

Pay range: $16 - $24 per hour. Payroll is processed weekly.
