Job description

SUMMARY
Performs a variety of duties to provide customer service by explaining and processing investments and other financial services, and maintaining accurate records. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

  1. Provide excellent customer service by accepting and processing financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, stop payments, check cashing, and cash advances within set guidelines and limits. This includes traveling to different branches within the region.
  2. Travel to and from branches as coverage for short-staffed locations.
  3. Issue cashier's checks and redeem savings bonds.
  4. Answer customer questions, investigate, and correct errors.
  5. Balance customer accounts and ATM/PTM transactions.
  6. Process check orders for customers.
  7. Place appropriate holds on savings and checking accounts as needed.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulations by completing CTRs and OFAC checks.
  9. Handle large volume deposits.
  10. Identify opportunities to cross-sell banking products such as debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking.
  11. Familiarize with departments like Wealth Management, Consumer & Mortgage Loans, and Commercial Loans to make referrals.
  12. Interview customers to gather information and explain available financial services including savings, checking accounts, IRAs, and CDs.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized branch/work area.
  14. Balance drawers within established guidelines and goals.
  15. Prepare daily teller cash settlements and investigate discrepancies using teller system and Synergy.
  16. Sign cashier's checks within assigned limits.
  17. Assist with branch opening and closing during staff absence.
  18. Handle upset customers professionally.
  19. Participate in cross-training for customer sales.
  20. Manage vault duties, including cash handling, balancing, and discrepancy resolution.
  21. Close accounts when necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; one to three weeks of training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A proactive customer service approach and willingness to go beyond normal duties are expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees are regularly required to stand, use hands, reach, talk, and hear. Frequent sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasional walking, climbing, or balancing. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and focus adjustment.
