Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the RN Float Pool, providing professional nursing care across critical care, intermediate care, and medical-surgical services. The role offers leadership to unlicensed personnel and collaborates with the medical staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The position requires an RN license, an associate or bachelor’s degree, and at least one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to dealing appropriately and fairly with employee misconduct.
• Enforces all ethics and compliance policies as they pertain to his/her area.
• Provides and assures ethics and compliance education as requested by the ECO and/or corporate initiative.
• Sets an example to all staff in their daily activities.
• Responsible for training and evaluating staff on the overall code of conduct and specific policies and procedures that affect department specific responsibilities (examples may include but not limited to PEPP, medical necessity, lab compliance, billing, and coding).
• If an ethics and compliance issue is identified, takes appropriate action to correct and/or report any violation that he/she is aware of in the department or the facility.
• Assesses, plans develops, implements and evaluates care of a specific patient population.
• Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.
• Develops plans of care with realistic goals:
• Obtains informative, accurate and concise nursing assessment.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the nursing process.
• Identifies patient problems, symptoms and psychosocial needs.
• Utilizes clinical experience and knowledge to anticipate potential patient care problems and/or emergencies and makes provisions to meet them.
• Validates data obtained by others by reviewing plan of care and admission assessment for a specific patient population.
• Interprets diagnostic data and incorporates it in the plan of care.
