Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe in Conroe, TX, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Float Pool to deliver high-quality care to patients in Critical Care, Intermediate Care, and Medical-Surgical services.

The RN will use the nursing process to coordinate and provide safe, competent care, supervise LVNs/UAPs, and collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes and support ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure in Texas or an approved compact state as a Registered Nurse.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Current BCLS
  • 1 year of acute care hospital experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in critical care/intermediate care/medical-surgical units.
  • Delegate nursing tasks to LPNs and unlicensed personnel based on patient needs.
  • Collaborate with care team to promote patient safety and outcomes.

Education

Current licensure in Texas or an approved compact state as a Registered Nurse
Graduation from an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current BCLS
1 year of acute care hospital experience

Job Summary And Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Nursing Administration /Designee, the Registered Nurse in the RN Float Pool is responsible for professional nursing care and related assistance to patients experiencing critical illnesses requiring admission to the Unit. The Registered Nurse in the RN Float Pool supports the medical care of all patients requiring Critical Care/ Intermediate Care/ Medical Surgical services under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the Hospital. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care.

The Registered Nurse provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

The Registered Nurse provides direction to Licensed Vocational Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in providing patient care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delegating nursing tasks based on the needs of the patient and the knowledge and skills of the individual selected to perform such tasks. The Registered nurse must be able to assess own learning needs to enhance personal and professional development. The nurse will increase knowledge and skills related to patient care by attending workshops, formal classes, seminars and in-services.
