Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Nursing Float Pool across Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, and Duke Raleigh Hospital in Durham, NC. The role offers diverse patient experiences on Medical–Surgical, Critical Care, and Pediatric units with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates will have a BSN/ADN or nursing diploma, with 12 months of clinical practice and NC RN licensure plus BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN/ADN/ diploma).
• Twelve months of clinical experience required for Experienced RNs.
• RNs without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within five years.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
• Participate in identification of improvement opportunities and performance improvement activities.
• Educate patients and families in accordance with the nursing plan of care.
