Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Med/Surg/Progressive Care Float Pool. Provide expert clinical care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and PCU settings, while supporting a collaborative team focused on exceptional patient outcomes.

The role requires Florida RN licensure or compact licensure, a Nursing Diploma or ASN (BSN preferred), and current BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications with grace periods as noted. Prior acute care experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or compact licensure with active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification required (6‑month grace period).
• Current NIHSS certification required (6‑month grace period).

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care patients.
• Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records, posting tests and exam results.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
