Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Med/Surg/Progressive Care Float Pool. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care units while collaborating with a dedicated team.

The role requires active FL RN license or compact license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. BSN is preferred, with opportunities to grow through the hospital’s education and career programs.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or appropriate compact license, active FL RN within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required (6-month grace period from hire).
• Current NIHSS certification required (6-month grace period from hire).
• Certifications: CCRN/ONC/PCCN/CMSRN or similar board certifications may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care patients.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records and test results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
