Job summary

Intermountain Health's St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, MT seeks experienced Resource Pool RNs to float across inpatient units, delivering evidence-based nursing care and creating individualized care plans.

RNs must hold an active RN license, BLS, and be capable of floating; BSN is required by the 2025 policy update. Float differential of 10% applies; shift coverage includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of start.
• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse experience.
• Willingness and ability to float across multiple units at St. Vincent Hospital.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire date.
• BSN from an accredited institution; degree verified.
• BSN required as of 4/27/2025 update; earlier hires held to prior requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care across inpatient units.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Adapt quickly to different units, patient populations, and acuity levels.
• Collaborate with physicians, care managers, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Continuously monitor, document, and evaluate patient progress and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation per regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families to promote recovery and safe transitions of care.
• Uphold professional and organizational standards of nursing practice.
