Job summary

LabCorp in Owensboro, Kentucky is seeking a Float Phlebotomist - Casual to join our team. This per diem role covers local sites and surrounding areas, with varied start times 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday and weekends.

You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, handle specimen processing, data entry, and deliver superior patient service while traveling to multiple sites as needed. Eligible candidates include high school diploma or GED, 1+ year phlebotomy, or phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; 1 year+ phlebotomy experience
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training program preferred, not mandatory

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
