Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Inc. in Overlea, MD is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our team. The position involves patient rooming, vitals, EMR data entry, assisting with procedures, and supporting the surgical prep workflow.

We offer a $1500 sign-on bonus for select positions, with commitment through December 31, 2026. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience; CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year experience as Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals.
• Enter patient information into EMR.
• Set up and assist with office procedures.
• Chaperone providers during patient examination.
• Take pre-op and post-op photos of patients.
• Maintain surgical instruments and transport to Central Sterile.
• Process surgical specimens and transport to Pathology.
• Stock exam rooms and order clinical supplies.
• Complete FMLA and Disability forms.
• Clean and reset exam rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
