Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Flight Training Manager to supervise and develop the MUAS Jump20 training program and related activities. You will oversee classroom, simulators, and field operations, building a skilled operator/mechanic team for government and commercial customers.

The role requires extensive travel, strong leadership, and expertise in adult learning, with a focus on delivering high-quality training experiences and continuous improvement across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in training.
• 5+ years of technical adult learning and education program experience.
• 5+ years of personnel management experience.
• Experience in manned/unmanned aviation operation roles.
• Strong knowledge of learning techniques and instructional design.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a professional, cohesive team environment.
• Coordinate multiple training phases for several programs.
• Assist Field Operations with hiring Field Service Representatives.
• Refine and develop course materials and syllabi.
• Develop and manage Training budgets.
• Ensure Instructors follow standardized procedures.
• Conduct after action reviews for training improvements.
• Ensure sufficient training space to support MUAS training.
• Collaborate with product line management on flight test feedback.
• Mentor staff and supervise costs, methods, and staffing.
• Interact with senior management on cross-domain matters.
• Travel internationally and domestically up to 80%.
