Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Petaluma, CA, is seeking a Flight Training Manager to lead and develop the MUAS Jump20 training program, building rapport with the instruction team and delivering qualified operators and mechanics for US government and other customers.

You will oversee classroom, simulators, and field training, manage budgets and staff of 8–15 instructors, travel up to 80% and ensure standardized procedures, with potential relocation to California near training offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience in Training.
• 5+ years of technical adult learning and education program experience.
• 5+ years of personnel management experience.
• Past experience in manned and/or unmanned aviation as Operator, Pilot, Flight Engineer or Mechanic.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate a professional team environment.
• Execute training phases for multiple programs with 8-15 instructors.
• Assist with hiring Field Service Representatives for each class.
• Refine and develop course materials and syllabus content.
• Develop and evaluate Training budgets.
• Ensure instructors follow standardized procedures.
• Conduct after-action reports for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate training spaces and equipment for MUAS training.
