Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Functional Check Flight Pilot to execute FCF test flights on HH-60W helicopters after maintenance or modifications. You will certify airworthiness, demonstrate aircraft proficiency, and work with military aircrews to ensure mission readiness.

The ideal candidate holds an FAA rotorcraft and instrument rating, 1,500 hours as a pilot (500+ in helicopters, 300+ in HH-60W preferred), a current Top-Secret clearance eligibility, and excellent English communication

Qualifications

• FAA commercial rotorcraft/instrument ratings required.
• 1,500 hours total as pilot with 500 hours in helicopters; 300+ in HH-60W preferred.
• Top-Secret clearance eligibility; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform test flights and demonstrate aircraft proficiency after maintenance or modification.
• Determine airworthiness before flight release per publications and procedures.
• Troubleshoot aircraft on ground and in flight; provide write-ups or verbal instructions to correct deficiencies.
• Perform recovery flights and ferry aircraft to other sites.
• Verify maintenance forms and records comply with work before ground or flight checks.
• Run-up aircraft for alert status; test modifications; support Maintenance Recovery Teams.
• Night IFR only on recovery, training, or ferry flights.
• Deploy to support mission requirements when maintenance test flights are anticipated.
• Fly with military aircrews; instruct FCF procedures per PWS.
• Interpret weather data and file flight plans; file plans for all sorties.
• Compute and annotate weight and balance logs.
• Operate navigational and communication equipment on the aircraft.
• Pass flight proficiency examinations by military authority.
• Perform other duties as required.
