Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to plan, execute, and analyze flight tests for our next-generation delivery aircraft. You will bridge engineering and flight operations, own test objectives, instrumentation, and data quality across rapid test campaigns.

The role requires a strong background in flight test engineering, Python/SQL data tooling, and a safety-first, collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
• Strong foundation in flight test engineering, including test planning, instrumentation, data reduction, and safe execution.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, tooling, and automation; experience building reusable libraries.

Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute flight tests to evaluate vehicle performance, control behavior, and system reliability.
• Act as interface between engineering and flight test operations; translate requirements into test objectives and feedback loops from the field.
• Analyze flight test data to assess vehicle dynamics, control performance, and subsystem interactions; provide actionable insights to design teams.
• Develop Python- and SQL-based analysis tools for flight data visualization and trend detection.
• Use SIL and HIL environments to validate software updates and sensor integrations.
