DoorDash Labs in San Francisco is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to plan, execute, and analyze flight tests for our next-generation delivery aircraft. You will translate engineering questions into safe, instrumented test plans and serve as the bridge between engineering and flight operations.

The role requires a strong flight-test background, proficiency in Python and SQL, Git workflows, and experience with C++ codebases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Strong foundation in flight test engineering and test execution.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL for data analysis and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute flight tests to evaluate vehicle performance and reliability.
• Act as the interface between engineering and flight test operations for test objectives.
• Analyze flight test data to assess dynamics, control, and system interactions.
• Develop Python- and SQL-based analysis tools for data visualization and trend detection.
• Use SIL and HIL environments to validate software updates and sensor integrations.
• Identify failures and drive root-cause analysis for continuous improvement.
