We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell MV-75 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next-generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

The Flight Test Engineering team at Bell is responsible for safely executing all development and certification test activities for all novel civil and military programs. Working alongside like-minded talent, you’ll hone your technical abilities on engineering problems, gain leadership experience, and play a significant role in propelling Bell forward as a leader in innovative future product development.

What you’ll be doing as a Flight Test Engineer
  • Work closely with engineering Integrated Product Teams and experimental pilots to establish and implement evaluation requirements into test plans covering aircraft performance, flying qualities, and systems flight testing.
  • Plan, track, and coordinate daily flight test activities, including preparing test cards, pre-flight briefings, and considering instrumentation, maintenance, and configuration change requirements.
  • Direct the execution of test flights from a telemetry room or participate in the aircraft as an aircrew member.
  • Update the Bell flight test reporting database, analyze flight data, and prepare test reports.
  • Coordinate with appropriate engineering and external groups in planning and resolving technical issues.

  • Formal flight test training or courses at a recognized institution.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and flight dynamics.
  • Private or commercial pilot license.
What You Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Class III Medical Certificate.
  • 5+ years of related experience in experimental testing, evaluation, and risk management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
