Job summary

Relative Dynamics, a NASA-focused defense contractor, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Flight Termination Systems (FTS) to join the Range Safety Operations Division at Wallops Flight Facility, VA. This on-site role supports the SMAS III program and NASA's safety-critical launch operations.

You will review designs, certify FTS hardware, perform environmental testing, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure regulatory compliance and mission readiness for launch vehicle

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering and 5+ years in aerospace/defense electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with FTS or safety-critical systems for rockets.
  • Strong knowledge of RF systems and high-reliability circuit design.
  • Familiarity with NASA, MIL-STD, and FAA range safety requirements.
  • Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC).

Responsibilities

  • Design review and certification of FTS hardware.
  • Test, certify and validate electronics against requirements.
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance for launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on mission support.
