Job summary

Relative Dynamics seeks an Electrical Engineer specializing in Flight Termination Systems (FTS) to join the aerospace engineering team at Wallops Flight Facility. The role involves reviewing designs, testing, and certifying FTS hardware to meet stringent regulatory and mission requirements, ensuring safety and reliability for launch operations.

The position is on site at NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of aerospace/defense electronics experience, including FTS or safety-critical systems.
• Strong RF knowledge and high-reliability circuit design.
• Experience with NASA, MIL-STD, and FAA range safety requirements.
• Hands-on environmental testing experience (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC).

Responsibilities

• Design review and certification of FTS hardware and electronics.
• Test and certify FTS against regulatory and mission requirements.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and compliance of launch vehicle operations.
• Perform environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC) on critical hardware.
• Prepare range safety documentation per NASA/FAA/MIL-STD standards.
