Job summary

Relative Dynamics seeks an Electrical Engineer specializing in Flight Termination Systems to join the Wallops-based aerospace engineering team. You will review designs, test, and certify FTS hardware and electronics that meet stringent regulatory and mission requirements.

The role focuses on safety-critical systems for launch vehicle operations, environmental qualification, and compliance with NASA MIL-STD and FAA range safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in aerospace/defense electronics including FTS or safety-critical systems.
• Experience with FTS and/or safety-critical systems for rockets.
• Knowledge of RF systems, DES and high-reliability circuit design.

Responsibilities

• Perform FTS design reviews and certification.
• Test and certify FTS hardware and electronics per regs and mission requirements.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and compliance of launch vehicle operations.
• Conduct environmental testing including thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC on safety-critical hardware.
• Apply NASA MIL-STD and FAA range safety requirements across design and certification.
