Job summary

Relative Dynamics is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years in aerospace/defense electronics to join the Range Safety Operations Division at NASA Wallops Flight Facility, VA. You will review designs, test, and certify FTS hardware to meet stringent requirements and support SMAS III contract.

The role demands strong RF knowledge, safety-critical systems experience, and the ability to work across teams. On-site position with competitive benefits and security considerations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace or defense electronics, including FTS or safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with FTS and/or safety-critical systems for rockets.
  • Strong knowledge of RF systems, command destruct receivers, and high-reliability circuit design.
  • Familiarity with NASA, MIL-STD, and FAA range safety and FTS requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC).

Responsibilities

  • FTS Design Review & Certification per requirements.
  • Review, test, and certify FTS hardware and electronics.
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and compliance of launch vehicle operations.
  • Perform environmental testing on safety-critical hardware.
