Rocket Lab Corporation in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to help develop flight software for Space Systems programs, from requirements definition through coding and testing, with on-orbit validation opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux.
• U.S. citizenship is required or ability to obtain security clearance.
• Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Develop application software to run within an RTOS and/or embedded Linux.
• Develop hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and sensors.
• Develop and maintain unit tests in a CI framework.
• Collaborate with hardware-in-the-loop test engineers to verify software/hardware functionality.
• Collaborate with systems and embedded engineers to develop and validate requirements.
• Participate in design reviews such as PDR and CDR.
• Assist with on-orbit flight operations.
