Job summary

Rocket Lab Corp. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Flight Software Engineer II to develop flight software across all lifecycle stages from requirements to on-orbit validation.

You will work on RTOS/embedded Linux based systems, interfacing with IMUs, star trackers, and other spacecraft sensors, while contributing to rigorous testing and system integration. The role requires a bachelor’s in a relevant field, 2+ years of embedded experience, and US citizenship or ability to obtain an active security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Experience with RTOS or Embedded Linux.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop application software to run in RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Create hardware drivers for IMUs, star trackers, reaction wheels, and other sensors.
• Develop and maintain unit tests within CI; collaborate with test engineers.
• Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) and source code reviews.
• Assist with on-orbit flight operations.
