Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. seeks a software engineer to support the 53d TEG EOU at Nellis AFB, NV. You will help stand up and sustain CCA flight simulation software, including air vehicle and mission autonomy systems, while collaborating with engineers, operators, maintainers and analysts.

The role emphasizes problem solving, adaptability, leadership, and attention to detail in a dynamic defense environment and requires onsite work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's engineering degree with years of experience per the posting.
• Strong scripting (Bash, Python) and debugging skills.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide software engineering support to the Experimental Operations Unit.
• Develop, test, and maintain flight simulation and Mission Autonomy software.
• Develop web applications and manage containerized deployments.
• Collaborate on data pipelines, APIs, and system integration.
• Engage in full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and contract vendors.
• Assist with project tracking, reporting, and presentations.
• Ensure cybersecurity measures and proper version control.
