Job summary

Air Methods CBS in Prescott, AZ is seeking a paramedic to join our flight team, delivering pre-hospital advanced life support during critical transports.

With 3+ years of busy 911 experience, you will operate in state-of-the-art helicopters, maintain documentation, and participate in pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings. You’ll work a flexible schedule and meet licensure and certification requirements while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in health‑related field preferred
• Minimum three (3) years’ recent experience in a busy 911 system
• Previous critical care transport and flight experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre‑hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care transfer to the accepting medical facility; maintain thorough patient care documentation
• Practice within defined scope of practice as established by state regulations and Air Methods CBS. Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences. Communicate educational needs to the Medical Base Supervisor and Medical Education Coordinator
• Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training, clinical rotations, and advanced procedures. Attend a minimum of six educational programs annually pertinent to your practice
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by Air Methods CBS. Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures and taking initial steps to ensure repair of equipment as directed
• Participate in patient follow‑up, referring institution communication, and planned outreach marketing and education activities
• Functions as a medical flight member by attending pre‑mission briefings and mission debriefings and completes necessary documentation. Assists in pre‑mission liftoff checklist and assists pilot as requested
• Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed
• Serve as a flight resource to neonatal/pediatric personnel when transporting specialty patients by helicopter. Perform advanced skills and procedures as approved by Air Methods CBS Medical Director(s)
• Serve as a role model, educator, and clinical resource. Participate regularly in departmental activities, projects, committees, and research and publishing opportunities. Maintain awareness of current pre‑hospital care issues through professional activities including national and state legislative involvement
• Other Duties as assigned.
