Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam seeks a Flight Paramedic to provide comprehensive pre-hospital and inter-facility life support, with duties including electronic charting, base checks, and mission prep. The role requires strong clinical skills, ongoing certification maintenance, and teamwork with EMS and hospital staff.

FP-C or equivalent within timelines is required, with EMT-P license and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP credentials mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months from date of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility with thorough documentation.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures.
• Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
• Function as a medical flight member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance when needed.
• Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Responsible for filling open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.
