Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam in Big Spring, TX is hiring a Flight Paramedic to join our team of air transportation experts, delivering high-safety, high-quality patient care during transport to and from medical facilities and during scene calls.

You will perform pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care, maintain documentation, complete required checks, and participate in pre-mission briefings and liftoff tasks. Minimum three years in 911/critical care; EMT-P license; FP-C within 24 months; FP-C preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS required.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Completion and submission of electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from initial contact until handoff.
• Maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
• Maintain licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety and procedures documentation.
• Know and maintain equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals and the public.
• Act as a medical flight team member and participate in mission briefings and debriefings.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot communication tasks.
• Comply with safety standards for crew, patients and equipment.
