Job summary

Vantor seeks a Systems Engineer and Product Owner to shape the Flight Operations Software for spacecraft command and telemetry. This hybrid role blends systems engineering with product ownership, coordinating across spacecraft, ground, and software teams.

You will translate mission needs into Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria while maintaining MBSE models and evolving the architecture. The team follows Agile processes and collaborates closely with engineers through design,

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen and eligible for U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in systems/engineering, aerospace, computer science, software engineering, EE, or related.
• 5+ years in aerospace/spacecraft/ground systems or similar complex technical systems.
• Experience with spacecraft command-and-control architectures and real-time telemetry.
• Experience across architecture, requirements, interfaces, integration, verification, and deployment.
• MBSE use to define architectures, interfaces, and dependencies.
• Experience defining and maintaining service APIs in SOA or distributed systems.
• Experience turning mission needs into Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlogs.
• Experience with Agile software development and working with software teams.

Responsibilities

• Own systems engineering and product ownership activities for Flight Operations Software spanning commanding, telemetry processing, ground systems, and mission operations.
• Translate mission needs into executable software capabilities, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• Own and prioritize the FOS backlog across architecture evolution, debt, and integration dependencies.
• Develop MBSE models and define system behaviors, interfaces, and operational flows.
• Define, document, and maintain APIs and interfaces between FOS and ground system services.
• Drive technical decisions and cross-team trades across spacecraft, ground, and software teams.
• Collaborate with engineers throughout design, integration, verification, deployment, and operation.
• Identify risks early and coordinate cross-functional resolution and mitigation.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture and long-term roadmap for mission systems.
