Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is offering a full-time co-op session from January to August, focused on embedded software for next-generation avionics. You will gain hands-on experience with embedded Linux, C/C++, networking, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and simulation environments.

You’ll learn the full software lifecycle, from requirements through verification and certification, while contributing to safety-critical projects and gaining mentorship from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong development experience with C and C++.
• Actively enrolled in a STEM bachelor’s or advanced degree through the internship.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by start of internship/co-op.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain flight-critical embedded software.
• Work with embedded Linux, C/C++, networking, device drivers, hardware interfaces, and simulations.
• Build high-integrity systems meeting safety, reliability, and airworthiness standards.
• Define requirements, implement features, develop tests, verify, and produce certification-ready artifacts.
