Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Systems Engineering co-op to gain hands-on experience across engineering disciplines from requirements through verification and qualification of avionics products.

You will learn how system engineers align multidisciplinary teams, refine requirements, define verification methods, and integrate hardware and software in a live avionics lab, while developing problem-solving and analytical skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in a technical discipline and enrolled through the internship/session.
• Foundational engineering problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine system and product requirements with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Define verification methods, test cases, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Integrate hardware and software and perform hands‑on testing in an avionics laboratory.
• Investigate problems that cross systems, hardware, software, firmware, and test boundaries.
• Participate in technical reviews and help teams evaluate design alternatives and engineering tradeoffs.
