Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a 3rd shift press operator in Deer Park, NY to safely run a flexographic press, perform make-ready, conduct quality checks, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

You will set up equipment, install anilox rollers, plates, inks and dies, adjust settings for optimal print quality, train teammates, follow LEAN principles, and support safety, continuous improvement, and cross‑department collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years’ related experience.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
• Basic computer skills and arithmetic ability.
• Proficient with hand tools and maintaining attendance.
• Willing to work overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain and operate a flexographic press.
• Conduct make ready with anilox rollers, plates, inks and dies.
• Clean, lubricate and perform minor adjustments for quality.
• Notify supervision of repairs or part needs.
• Deliver finished material to relevant areas.
• Ensure equipment is safe and properly maintained.
• Assist with other printing processes as needed.
• Assist in training teammates and adhering to specs.
• Follow LEAN principles and safety procedures.
