Job summary

MCC Label is seeking a Press Operator Assistant to support printing presses in accordance with job specifications and customer expectations. The role involves setup, changeovers, and quality checks to ensure on-time production.

The position requires teamwork, basic reading of job tickets, ruler and color vision tests, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Eligibility for overtime may apply, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Print shop experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others; team player.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (ruler test).
• Ability to pass an eye test (20/20).
• Ability to differentiate colors (color test).
• Ability to input data into the computer.
• Ability to work in a team with urgency for on-time completion.
• Stand and move around press area for long periods; frequent walking.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Attains and maintains defined job objectives related to planning and execution of jobs.
• Assist in external make-ready operations when changing from one label job to another.
• Assist in external clean-up activities after changeover.
• Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strip plates from cylinders; locate dies to/from the press.
• May work with a press operator to view labels with a strobe light.
• Comply with customer MCC quality assurance specifications.
• Complete quality assurance sheets and documentation as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned.
