Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy Perioperative Surgical team, with exposure to robotic platforms such as the Da Vinci Xi, dv5, and Mako in Orthopedics. The role is based at the Albany campus with potential work at South Clinical Campus in Albany.

The position offers schedule flexibility (four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts), weekday daytime hours, and opportunities to supplement income with extra shifts on weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program.
• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and RNFA training.
• Must be licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures, including robotic assistance in multiple specialties.
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Participate in a learning environment with mentorship across multiple surgical specialties.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices.
