Job summary

Albany Medical Center, Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services, is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team at our Albany campus. The role involves hands-on perioperative care, assisting surgeons across multiple specialties, and gaining experience with robotic systems such as Davinci Xi and Mako inOrthopedics.

Active NY licensure as PA or NP is required; ACLS/BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program OR
• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and RNFA training

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures including robotic assistance in general surgery, urology, gynecology, thoracic and colorectal, and total joints
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care
• Document encounters, operative notes, and clinical findings accurately
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
