Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is recruiting caring and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in specialist SEND schools and mainstream settings across Chesterfield. This role offers flexible opportunities, including immediate and September 2026 starts, with the chance to make a meaningful difference to children and young people with additional needs.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and make progress

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills are important.
• An enhanced DBS and safeguarding knowledge are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD and SEMH needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support in lessons and interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers to promote learning and development.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive wellbeing.
• Follow individual support plans and school policies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
