Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Professional Flex Officer in the Houston area. The role involves serving diverse clients, patrols, and using our shift-pickup platform to build a schedule that fits your availability. You may work irregular shifts with short notice as needed to support multiple industries.

Applicants should be at least 18, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a valid driver’s license. A background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements depend on state or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws; prior criminal history allowed per law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed in some states).
• Reliability and adaptability to different post assignments.
• Operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Communicate cordially with the public; write clearly and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills; assess situations quickly.
• Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy; strong teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department if needed.
• Warn violators of rule infractions.
• Permit entry to authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as required by site Post Orders.
