Job summary

AICA Orthopedics is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to manage patient information with accuracy in a fast-paced office. You will work with our electronic health record system and ensure timely access to critical data, contributing to quality patient care.

Responsibilities include filing, auditing, release of information, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with care teams. A high school diploma and 1–2 years of medical records experience are preferred; RHIT or RHIA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of medical records handling experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee filing, auditing, and production of medical records with high accuracy.
• Process release of information requests promptly and ensure proper authorizations.
• Protect patient privacy and ensure HIPAA compliance across processes.
• Collaborate with care teams and external parties to deliver timely records and bills.
• Maintain organized, accessible records and a clean workspace.
• Provide courteous, informed responses to inquiries about medical records.
• Continuously improve records processes for efficiency and accuracy.
