Job summary

Qualifications

• College degree or progress towards degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred; proficient knowledge of an EHR required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA required.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply principles for acquiring, analyzing, maintaining, releasing, and protecting medical information vital to patient care.
• Perform routine use and upkeep of the EHR to ensure privacy, accuracy, and security; support providers with system usage as needed.
• Assemble and manage patient health information including history, symptoms, results, and treatments; ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Process daily charge entries and verify charges; prepare charts per hospital policies and HIPAA/regulations; handle requests as needed.
