Job summary

Food City is seeking an on-site team member for the Meat Department. The role involves cutting, grinding and slicing meat, merchandising, and maintaining cleanliness and HACCP compliance while delivering courteous customer service. Prior meat cutting experience is a plus; 18+ years old required.

Training and a supportive team environment are offered. The position emphasizes adherence to shift schedules, health and safety standards, and efficient operation of displays.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meat cutting experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Cut and merchandise all fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying products.
• Grind meat.
• Slice meat.
• Organize cooler arrangement and stocking.
• Rotate product.
• Keep display cases neat and clean.
• Maintain good code dates on products in display cases.
• Keep work station area neat and clean.
• Sanitize and disinfect department twice daily.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist in enforcing HACCP program.
