Job summary

BrightStar Care in Caddo Mills, TX is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide one-on-one home health services. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and help with ADLs and IADLs, promoting independence and safety in the home.

You’ll work independently with patients and families, coordinate with the clinical team, document visits, and comply with regulations. A Texas OT license is required, along with strong communication skills and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the State of Texas.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Excellent clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to patients’ homes throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities, limitations, and needs related to daily living activities.
• Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on each patient’s goals and needs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
• Assist patients with improving their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Recommend adaptive equipment, techniques, and environmental modifications when appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safety strategies, exercises, and techniques to promote independence.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document visits accurately and in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while working independently in the home environment.
• Accept visits based on your availability and patient needs.
