Job summary

BrightStar Care is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide one-on-one home-based OT services in the Kilgore and Longview, TX area. You will develop individualized treatment plans to promote independence, safety, mobility, and overall quality of life for patients in their homes.

As a 1099 independent contractor, you will choose visits based on availability and patient needs, with flexible scheduling and no guaranteed hours.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in Texas.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to patients’ homes across service area.
• English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities related to daily living activities.
• Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on patients' goals and needs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
• Assist patients with ADLs and IADLs.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, techniques, and environmental modifications when appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safety strategies, exercises, and techniques to promote independence.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document visits accurately and in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with physicians, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while working independently in the home environment.
• Accept visits based on your availability and patient needs.
