Job summary

BrightStar Care in Everman, TX is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide one-on-one OT services in patients' homes across the area.

You will develop individualized treatment plans to promote independence and safety, educate patients and caregivers, and document visits in compliance with clinical standards.

This flexible role is ideal for therapists seeking supplemental income, with visits scheduled based on availability.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the State of Texas.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Excellent clinical judgment and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to patients’ homes throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities, limitations, and needs related to daily living activities.
• Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on each patient’s goals and needs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions designed to improve independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
• Assist patients with improving their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Recommend adaptive equipment, techniques, and environmental modifications when appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safety strategies, exercises, and techniques to promote independence.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document visits accurately and in accordance with clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while working independently in the home environment.
• Accept visits based on your availability and patient needs.
