Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a registered nurse for a flexible, non-benefited role across multiple areas of expertise. The position requires 60 hours availability in a 4-week schedule with decreased holiday and weekend commitment and no on-call duties.

Under general supervision, the RN provides direct patient care, develops and updates care plans, administers medications and therapies, and collaborates with the health team to support patient needs while maintaining patient safety and quality

Qualifications

• Proficiency in developing nursing plan of care, implementing effective nursing care, and evaluating outcome of nursing intervention.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective planning and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and prioritization of patient care needs using the nursing process.
• Planning and updating written nursing plans of care with input from health team.
• Administration of medications, IV therapy and treatments with appropriate monitoring.
• Coordinate patient activities and discharge planning with family and care team.
• Provide patient teaching and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Role may include charge RN duties and precepting new staff where competent.
