Job summary

NCFE is seeking Examiners on a flexible remote contract to mark the Level 1/2 Technical Award in Food and Cookery. You’ll assess external tasks, adhere to the marking standards, and submit results during the summer 2027 window, supporting fair and consistent outcomes for learners.

Suitable candidates have Level 3+ food & cookery qualifications or related teaching/occupational experience, with strong QA understanding and the ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and marking windows.
• Understanding of quality assurance and assessment processes.

Responsibilities

• Mark external assessments according to the mark scheme.
• Submit results within the marking window.
• Maintain confidentiality of NCFE materials and learner data.
• Attend remote standardisation events and meetings as needed.
