Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Caretenders unit is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction aimed at improving the patient’s well-being under the supervising Physical Therapist. The role emphasizes adherence to state laws and collaborative care with nursing and physicians.

This full-time home-health position requires a current PTA license, CPR certification, a valid driver’s license, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
Current CPR certification.
Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

Following state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care under the supervision of a PT.
Instructing and aiding patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training.
Observing and reporting patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team.
Educating patient and family in therapy activities within the PTA scope.
