Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain is seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders for both children and adults. The role involves developing patient plans based on physician referrals and coordinating care with the health team.

The position requires licensure in the state of practice, CCC-SLP is preferred/required within one year, and Basic Life Support is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of current practice (required)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) (preferred at hire, required within one year)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH)
• 2 years of experience in an equivalent setting (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Reviews referral, patient condition, and medical history to determine therapy needs.
• Performs patient evaluations and develops discharge plans.
• Plans and administers speech-language treatments per physician prescription.
• Instructs patients and families to continue at home.
• Coordinates care with treatment team and participates in staff meetings.
