Job summary

Emerald Nursing & Rehab Mercy is seeking a dedicated PRN Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our nursing team. The CMA will administer medications, monitor resident health, and help maintain a safe, supportive environment for residents on an as-needed basis.

This role requires Nebraska CMA and CNA certification, good communication, and ability to work with a diverse team. PRN scheduling offers flexibility to fit into your other commitments.

Qualifications

• Nebraska CMA and CNA certification is required by state regulations.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Medication Administration: accurately administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with facility protocols and physician orders. Ensure proper documentation of medication administration and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervising nurse.
• Resident Monitoring: Observe and document changes in residents' conditions, including vital signs and any adverse reactions to medications. Communicate observations and concerns to the nursing staff and assist with any necessary follow-up actions.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area. Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for residents.
• Resident Support: Provide compassionate and respectful assistance to residents, addressing their needs and preferences while fostering a supportive and empathetic atmosphere.
• Communication: Collaborate with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure that residents' needs are met. Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding medication-related concerns and changes in health status.
• Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including medication administration records, resident health observations, and incident reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
